Description

The Ursa Major has been the corner stone of our line-up since 2011. Several small changes over the years but it's soul has remained the same. It was designed to fill a desire for a hard charging board with a playful attitude that can handle big lines and speed and still be lots of fun in the trees. The design generates lots of float and stability. Unlike most freeride boards, the Ursa retains more surface area behind your rear foot to create a stable platform for landings, high-speed turns, and popping off of soft features without punching into the snow pack. This factor also means you can manage to ride switch in powder to some degree while riding switch perfectly on firm snow.

The Ursa is a board that gives you confidence to carry more speed on any line while still being fun and playful when you choose to dial it back. It's designed to absorb and glide over choppy conditions to maintain control and reduce fatigue. On groomers it likes to draw out long wide turns at speed but can be tightened up wen you really push into the turn for fun short snappy carves.

Good fit:
  • Riders looking for a versatile powder board
  • Push their freeriding with confidence
  • Just send it.
Bad fit:
  • Looking for a jib board
  • Predominantly only ride on-piste
  • For a more volume shifted nimble tree board see the Voyageur
  • For a more surfy pow stick see the Trout Trap

The only big mountain board I need!

Days riding on this board:100+, Review:Been riding my Ursa Major since 2020 & it's taken everything I've thrown at it. From peaks, pillows & pow laps to marginal conditions & sketchy icy crap. This board just laps it up! Fast, fun & dependable. Build quality & attention to detail is incredible. Love this thing!

A Board that can take a beating!

Days riding on this board:11-25, Review:After riding with this board throughout rogers pass, the okanagan, & the coquihalla with widely varying conditions I can safely say that this board is worth spending the money on. Not for how it handles the downhill during a deep pow day, you can make just about any board work on a pow day. But for being able to handle icy to almost neve conditions &/or when you have almost as much shurbbery than snow at lower elevations. This board can take a beating & that's what you need from a splitboard.

Sick stick

Days riding on this board:26-50, Review:The board has been sweet since I first rode it. I like the design it feels like I’m just set back in the right spot. I have the 166 and I’m 190-200 lbs depending on time of year. It’s been the perfect board for my backcountry trips out of Sitka, alaska… I’m looking forward to taking it to Haines! Seems to do fine touring as well. I got some Pomona skins that do a pretty nice job climbing. Board is hold up pretty well couple dings I should probably address. Overall super stoked with this board I have even turned a few of my friends to TRAPPER!

Bombproof

Picked up one of these beauties 3 seasons ago and hands down best split I’ve ever had. Rips hard and tough as nails...handles all the abuse of touring in the Rockies...and rides like a dream.
I’ll be buying another one for sure but I can’t kill this one!!!
